Candidate for Mayor:
Candidate Responses
Wendy Landry
What will you do to support food systems in your municipality?
The Municipality will continue to support the Community Garden and our fall harvest with the community by providing whatever they need.
What will you do to protect farmland, the environment and forest and freshwater food systems?
We don’t have much farmland, we work with the LRCA on environmental issues with the shoreline, and wastewater and water systems, as well as we offer recycling (many options) at our landfill sites. Regionally we support respectful harvesting of our fibre, as for Fresh water food systems, our beautiful lakes offer fishing.
What will you do to support access to food for all?
We contribute to food banks, as well as my husband and I make a monthly donation to the RFDA.
Looking for candidate responses from another community?
FAN-NWO invited candidates for mayor or reeve in seven municipalities in the Thunder Bay area to respond to the same questions. Responses are organized by community and published verbatim, as received.
